Home Depot is Hiring BUT Read this B4 You Apply!

This is Not your typical Customer Service application. Check out what I discovered after responding to an online job opening for a position at my local Home Depot store. #MAKE TIME TO APPLY The application includes 2 Assessments with 72 questions each to measure your personality and home improvement knowledge. Give yourself about 45min - 1hr to complete the whole process. #KNOW YOUR STUFF The Home Improvement Knowledge/Sales Assessment is designed to TEST your overall repair, maintenance, and tools recognition knowledge. You don’t have to be a Pro but make sure you know the difference between Vice Grip and Pliers before you begin. TIP - If you feel you lack Home Improvement knowledge or don't score well on the assessment then apply for the Cashier position and attend in-store workshops to increase your skills. Learn more about what it's like to work at Home Depot, how to apply at the Home Depot, Home Depot's popular positions and employee benefits at the Home Depot.

Commercial sales

no THANKS, I worked at the pro desk for over 5 years, made them1.3 million a year in sales myself, they didn't want to pay me a decent salary, and I was never treated so badly by any other employer on my life, the manager I worked for needs mental help

I worked for home Depot for 18 years. (no that's not a typo) If your looking for a job that only pays 9.50 go for it. They will promise you the world and give you nothing. They will assign you to lets say, the hardware department, and then they will ask you to cover the flooring department while that associate is at lunch. But what about the hardware department you ask. Well, you'll be covering that department also at the same time. And of course if you see a customer who can't find help in the lumber department, you need to help them. All while the other departments have no help. If this is the kind of career your looking for, good luck. If your looking for a (job) then this might work for you. Just don't get caught up in the customer service aspect. Work with one customer at a time and you can't worry about the other 4 or 5 who can't find any help. It's just the way it is and will never change. Profits before customer service. That' should be their new motto.

Customer Service

Wish I had read this before I applied. I don't know much about home improvement but I thought they provided training.

The tests were easy but they only offer $9.50 an hour. That is a high school/college student wage.
