I’m not too old. I’m “over qualified “. Ageism is alive and well out there even though it is illegal to discriminate due to age

Age discrimination is alive and not well. An employer can site countless reasons as to why you weren't hired. Age discrimination is extremely hard to prove. I'm 62

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act prohibits discrimination based on age. The company should ask, "Can you do the work?" If the answer is yes, then you should be hired.

I think it is going to get real Crazeee....and SOON; my suggestion is to use this time to create a job something unique. It is not just the want or need for more money....WORK ethics are embedded in my generation...

Although, old timers are dedicated and fully committed employers are not looking to hire them. Instead, employers highly prefer to hire the younger generation because they are trying to do what's cost effective. The more money that the larger corporations saves, the bigger the year end bonus. Older folks like myself are looking for stability and benefits, that's too much to ask in todays world.

You're as young as you feel. Age is just a number for some of us!

This happens all the time, and way too much. Seniors are dedicated, and know their job. When this happens, most retire, sooner than they should. Just to survive. Very sad..........
