Scams, Scams and Scammers!
Have you received telemarketing phones? Maybe applied to a Mystery Shopper on Jobcase and received a check in the mail for you to cash? This is an example of what to expect when scammers are trying to take advantage of you? You apply for the job and they take your information and tell you they are sending you a check to purchase a brand new laptop, headset and not to spend more than $1200.00? They send you an overnight ups envelope with a check for $3,898.00? You email them and tell them you received the check and the amount is far more than the $1200.00? They email you back thanking you for being honest and tell you no problem we appreciate employees like you take an additional $300.00 for yourself and go to Walmart and purchase money cards and email the remaining money to them by providing the card and code numbers? While all this is going on your bank is calling you to tell you the check bounce and you now owe them the money? **Please Note! No company does this! This is a Scam and please be aware of it! Do not fall victim to the scams these Rootless People who Prey on the Week Do! This is an Example of such Scams and as you can see they tried to Get Me!

Yes, that happened to me 3 years ago 😡

I got one of those but they wanted me to use my mobile app to deposit a check they emailed me. I didn't even get a real hard check. I first called the bank it was drawn on by googling the bank and the account has been closed for years. I even found the company the guy said he works for and called there hr dept and asked if they had anyone by the name devin working for them. Again no such luck so ya the scammers are coming out fast with this stimulus check coming out there going to try and get it from you.

Yep they did get me for 1200 dollars.only because I was once a personal shopper who actually got paid. Stupid of me but I learned a lesson for sure.

Thank you for sharing! It is unfortunate that scammers exist and during times like now, they can be particularly ruthless. Here is a good article on how to find remote jobs and what red flags to look for: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/26/the-secret-to-landing-a-remote-job-and-who-is-hiring-right-now.html

I appreciate you sharing that. I had something like that sent to me but I threw it in the thrash.

Hi Michael, thanks for sharing. When did you realize they were trying to scam you? I'm glad you caught it! This is very helpful information for everyone.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT....BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW OFFER IS LEGIT??
How can a fraudulent cashier's check even exist? I thought you had to exchange actual cash just to aquire a "cashier's check"? Kind of in the name...
