Is there ANY thing persons over the age of 66 can do about age discrimination? I've even experienced for work at home positions. Makes you want to lie about your age!!
Even with paid surveys, the only things you qualify for are about medical or severe illnesses. are you kidding me?? Signed a healthy active and tech savvy person looking for part time remote/work from home . #ageism #jobsearch #application

Hey @Wendy Collins, welcome to Jobcase community. I highly recommend you visit the job board if you would like to apply for jobs. Good luck.

I understand your frustration with age discrimination in the job search. While it can be challenging, there are steps you can take. First, focus on highlighting your skills and experience relevant to the job. Consider networking to expand your opportunities. Utilize online job search platforms like Jobcase, LinkedIn, and Indeed to find remote/work-from-home positions. Don't let age discourage you - there are employers out there valuing your expertise! #careercoach #ageism #jobsearch

What do you do when you get fired for a bunch of he said she said which felt very much like a witch hunt to get rid of the old lady. I had worked there without getting in trouble at all . So at the age of 69 I basically got kicked out on my ass. I had worked for that company for 11 going on 12. NOW WHAT DO I DO????

perfecto , me prece muy bien

Yes

There are jobs for seniors but you need to give the employer a reason to hire you. The best way to do that is to develop a specific set of skills. Employers do not want to invest in someone that may not be around in the future.

Hi Wendy, I know how you feel. With over 32 years experience as a successful Director of Sales for 23 different hotels during that period, once you have trained the general manager and the newbies to their positions, you are outsted. You may need to go on remote work resources like Freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr and other remote agencies and build up your own business online as an independent contractor. It's very slow and time consuming but may provide additional income and educational resources. Much luck! Jeanne Erwin, International Business Consulting, LLC

Your question is an age-old saga of disparate discrimination against people 40 and over. In this case, you are 65, yet protected by the ADEA - Age Discrimination in employment Act.
You are entitled to Medicare at age 65. you may subscribe entirely or in part within your employer's benefits program but is not mandatory. Medicare covers holistically your benefits needs. you may also want to look into the idea of not only working as a direct employee but also as a contractor on either W2 or 1099 which accommodates your gig labor market interest work as well. They can fully remote and hybridize for flex time work. Work-life balance assumes priority consideration for our aging workforce and should you feel discriminated against due to your age, you do not have to disclose them at all during the recruitment process. Only after selection and offer, if possible that it will not negatively impact your job security. Carry your insurance - Marketplace or Medicare is my contingent advice to you. Focus on marketing your KSA to your potential employer and leverage your career networking to include our gig economy for maximum reach and impact for effective results outcomes. The EEOC adjudicates cases of age discrimination and can handle your complaint as such conduct. Good luck!
