Hello everyone! I'm young and not super experienced with working but I'd like to get a part-time weekend job in the New Haven county of Connecticut if possible, just so I have some funds while I eventually go back to college.
I've been applying for cashier and sales associate positions for the past few weeks but not much luck yet. I know I won't be qualified for the position in some cases or they won't be hiring right now. Only two places responded back with automated email replies but other than that, I haven't received any other emails or calls back. Do I need to be more patient?
I was previously an full-time office assistant at a used car dealership (though a lot of the tasks assigned to me were outside my original job description) so I have some knowledge of automotive car inventory and key systems such as Dealer Track, Dealer Car Search, VAuto, KeyTrak, KeyMaster and 1Micro. I don't know if said work experience will be of help applying anywhere. Should I look for another dealership to work at or perhaps other office related jobs?

Hi Maria, Welcome to Jobcase! I would first suggest checking with your local grocery stores, movie theaters, fast food restaurants, community programs, and retail stores such as Target. You can see if any of these places are hiring by applying in person or using the following steps:
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company. Your search for example could be for “cashier,” “tutor,” “server,” etc. Think about what you want to do and type it in!
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Here is a very helpful resource for [jobs for teens] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/890b8dc6-44e4-5213-939d-a277a1b82fa2) to check out as well.
I hope this helps, good luck!
