Why can't I get hired? 10+ years of experience, college degree
Why can't I get hired? I'm a hospitality professional of over 10 years with a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management. I've worked with the largest names in the Hospitality industry and have been unemployed since March 2020 when my role was eliminated. Any advice? Hospitality professionals, how are your job searches coming along? #hospitality #jobsearch #wordsofadvice

Sorry you've been dealing with that! I graduated in 2020 with a hospitality degree (events emphasis) and I worked as a cashier then server then Doordash driver (which is nice and flexible) since then. I've been looking for seven months as before that I was planning my own event for the experience. I've gotten plenty of interviews the problems seem to be my lack of professional experience and lack of interviewing skills. I prefer Indeed for job searching because it's easier to apply with just your resume.

ive had 11 years of medical office experince and unable able to make more then 20 per hr

I had a life coach once that told me to "dumb up my resume" just to get my foot in the door. Much luck to you!

do you answer all the "so tell me about a time when" with enthusiasm ? use the pandemic to show u care about ppl like how youve helped a customer when it first hit. i lie and i get every job i apply for.its like acting be dramatic
In the "new normal" with the lack of truly qualified people many have hired those who may not be "as" qualified for the positions they hold. Next time do not list all of the years of experience, all the Major Co`s., and all the level of education and see if the results are different. You may be dealing with folks who are insecure because they are not themselves, as qualified and fear you. You can always show your true talents when the opportunity arises. Good Luck
