Controller at Itamg

I was recently told “how many more years do you have left? Do what old horses do and roam the pasture.” Seriously? I’m 67, hardly look my age and can run rings around any 30 year old worker, intellectually. Insulting and illegal and really infuriating. I just keep searching and try to remain hopeful. What else can older workers do. We’re not dead yet!

I have been in banking and finance for over 42 years both at worldwide banks and the US Federal government including federal disaster lending. MY photo was taken last year on my 68 birthday. I applied for a mere loan PROCESSING job locally last week and was told I DID NOT QUALIFY???? Excuse me?? I could do that job in my sleep! They hired a 20 year old with NO experience! There is DEFINITELY age discrimination!

That is so disgusting. Keep your head up, we (the older generation) can run circles around most of these crybaby millennials any day of the week!

The younger generation don't want to work, I just had three interviews today and all three told me the same thing

Yes great interview, but sorry we are looking for someone that wants to build a career and your qualifications are more skilled than the position.

Apply for something you have never done. It may not pay to start what you are expecting, but as you learn the position raises are possible.

Owner at Aquatech Food Support Systems

I just settled for being old and smart, because people will run out of water, people will run out of good food, power grids will fail, crops will fail, and oxygen will be depleted by smoke from fires and volcanoes. I really don't worry because I can bypass all that just because I know how and young engineers are still starching their heads wondering how to out smart acid rain, pollution, and plastic in everything that lives! Is there a job for me? Nope! I don't have a degree, they don't hand them out for six grade drop outs with a 178 IQ!
