When the right things become wrong results …
I’ve heard from a few people close to me recently. Each have different challenges but I hear a similar story.
These are people that made pretty solid choices in their lives – some went to college, some got good jobs, they were active in their communities, etc. But still, bad luck found them.
I know it happens, and there are a bunch of reasons why things didn’t work out – their pay doesn’t keep up with costs, divorce, being a single parent, health problems, no opportunity where they live …
But there are times when I don’t quite know what to suggest. It’s got me thinking that everyone could use a better fall-back plan.
Got any good suggestions for when life changes drastically?

Unfortunately, I feel like we all go through those tough times. Whether there is an illness in your family, loss, financial hardships, etc. I think the best fall back plan is to plan now versus when something happens. Set money aside, have a back up plan for childcare (if needed), update your resume just in case and do the best you can to brace for impact. These things happen when we least expect them but we can tackle them head-on if we make a game plan now. Matthew Ireland
No matter what we do hard times come, that's just part of life. Stash some cash and stay up to date on what's happening in your community. I don't have any blood family but I have a large church family and a few really good friends that get me through. I volunteer at the local animal shelter and at the food bank. I attend Chamber of commerce meetings and try to stay informed. That way I know how to set up an informative fall back plan for the next time calamity comes calling (and she will). Good luck and God bless.
