My advice to people interested in working at #Painter as a #Welder ...

Painting isnt for everyone but i find that the finish product beauiful when its done and u arnt doing the same thing all the time. Prep work is the most important part of it. If that isnt good Then your paint job will look like Shit..

The biggest mistake I made as a #Welder at #Painter ...

Mixed the wrong black paint. The finish paint has a tint of red in It. Due to the pesticides that they put in the paint to keep the barnicals off. We were painting Alaska fishing boats

The biggest mistake I made as a #Welder at #LippertComponents ...

Trusting the boss. He fired after he told me he believed me and that he loves me like a little brother, and also said i wouldnt get fired. Not only did he make the deicision to fire me he then didnt answer my call when i called him back to see what happened. He never even returned my call. He had hr fire me over the phone, wasn't even man enough to do it in my face because he knew i was setup and he was wrong. I had worked there for 3 years.

My advice to people interested in working at #Kiewit as a #Welder ...

Don't do it even if you need experience. They treat you like crap. You work for free, you are expected to show up 30-1hr early to get ready for work. You are expected to be ready with 5-15 minutes while setting up machine ....and pulling your leads fighting for a machine and leads to work with over 150+ people around you. No organization of tools/ equipment yet a military like structure. There is no set schedule with the good ole "subject to change" hours. Meaning you can work a 12 within minutes notice. You work 13 on 1 off 12 hour shifts and shift work. It's horrible and discrimination is well alive there even if you have passed qualified test there and have experience. Save yourself, your family, friends, and dogs the favor to not kill yourself for a low hourly rate just to make decent money with 70+ hours a week whether you want it or not. People are not being dramatic with saying its slave work. It truly is and the poor workers there are always beat up and tired just to support family.
