Walt Disney World Shutdown
This is a time where your consideration has to be taken to another level. I remember finding out the news that my position was being terminated, and still having to go out and entertain guests before going home for the day. There were many coworkers that came to visit me for the last time, and all I could do was give them my best performance, and capture memories with them that will last for a lifetime. For all of us! #coronavirus #comingtogether #entertainment #characterperforming #waltdisneyworld

You are looking to have fun!

The biggest mistake I made as a #Server/Trainer/Sommelier at #WaltDisneyWorld ...
I started in King Stephan’s Banquet Hall upstairs in the castle. Average table was 2 adults, 2 children. 2 little girls bought the experience hook, line and sinker! I did Disney crouch so I wasn’t towering over, but eye level with the girls(5 & 9). This was 1993. New hire. Just finished Traditions and training. The oldest girl said,” You’re so lucky Cinderella is your boss and you live and work in the castle! But Mommy says there’s things we don’t like about people we love.” I asked if she was digging for dirt on Cinderella. She nodded. I said’Cinderella is like Mary Poppins- practically perfect in every way!” She never let up. So finally while crouching down between the 2 girls I said,” I watch Oprah. And she had a makeover show recently. She said it’s not natural or beautiful for a woman to wear powder blue eyeshadow. And Cinderella wears powder blue eyeshadow every day to match her powder blue dress!” I looked up, and there was the Mom- wearing powder blue eyeshadow!!! I turned 16 shades of red!!!!

A #stressful #WaltDisneyWorld day
After 9/11, we found out we were a potential target as well and seeing bomb sniffing dogs and security personnel every day was a bit scared. But Disney took it seriously, and I focused on my guests.

What I loved working at #WaltDisneyWorld
Being part of the magic. We were empowered to make a special moment for families, whether it meant grabbing a new t-shirt for a mom with a mess, or a disposable camera for a family at a character meal w/o a camera. It’s all about the guests!

What I loved working at #WaltDisneyWorld
Seeing the magic in children’s eyes. Working for the #1 entertainment company in the world!

I love working at a job where I get a chance to make people smile.
Working at Disney was fun, but I now want a job on a smaller scale. One that I can still enjoy going to work everyday.

What I loved working at #WaltDisneyWorld
