What made me stay @ #CityofHuntingtonwv was

Not only was I a lifeguard. I was a member of the community. We guided the youth in the right direction. We served lunch to anyone in need. We also had other programs to keep the youth interested in activities and keep them out of trouble. The boys and girls club was a great place for kids to go to for after school activities and events. We also helped with school work. We as active bodies was able to give guidance and show leadership. The kids would give respect because we showed respect.

Illegal!

I worked for north shore lijmc as a volunteer from 6/17/10 - 12/19/14 I was fired because I wrote a comment on Facebook that stated I want every single f@$&ing cop killed for killing innocent people and abusing their power. I never gave them permission to scan through my Facebook and they had the audacity to tell me that I no longer work here! Do you think I have a legal case against the company since they infringed on my freedom of speech? Any response is greatly appreciated!

You should volunteer @ #Assistedwithactivities5-7daysaweek because

I wasn't with an organization at all. It was all me. I went to residents rooms and would bring them to dining room for games, bingo, arts and crafts just had fun! The first week of the month we had a one time birthday party for all client's birthdays in that month. If the resident physically couldn't come down I took food to them. Just socializing really but it was fun! I loved seeing their eyes light up, a smile on their face and laughter! I love being around people and I do believe people like being around me. I'm still in contact with a couple of the residents!

How I started volunteering at #NorthAvenueBeach

I have always volunteered my time to others when I have it, unemployment makes you lazy and have to stay busy. North Avenue Beach is here in my area and I use the Beach so why not.

My advice to people interested in working at #TheSalvationArmy as a #supervisor ...

it's a great organization to be associated with -all the work is for the LORD--which means helping others in need --plus the feeling you get out of volunteering your time and the love you receive from within yourself for making someone happy with the meal you just served them or the time you spent listening to them .the employees are great and are there for you in a time of your need--the MAJORS are very supportive -i loved working there for 9 years and regret leaving

No hope

I am turning 17 in a month and a half. I am volunteering to pay for all of my senior expenses and school starts in a month. I have applied for 20+ places and went in for ONE interview and the hiring manager gave it to someone else. I was really disappointed because I nailed that interview. I just need help!

Not a good fit as a volunteer position?

I recently had applied to do volunteer work at the local hospital, I have over 16 years volunteer work behind me and I was told I was "Not a good fit" for volunteer work at a hospital.

Has corporate America really turned being a volunteer position into upholding something of an image. The hospital I applied for volunteer role was called Fairview Southdale.

It is in a mainly wealthy section of Edina,Mn and I was interviewed last Friday for the reasons I decided to volunteer.

Anyway, I got to thinking what has become of society if they treat volunteer people who want to serve and help people like they are trying to live up to a mold the hospital is trying to present.
