Conservation
How can I help with conservation more effectively?

My advice to people interested in working at #GaCares as a #Volunteer ...
Very rewarding. No pay except feeling worth while.

No work experience
Hi i am 19 and I have been trying to find work. My resume is pretty good and shows that I have a lot of good recommendations and I did a lot of volunteer work but every time I apply to jobs they say they aren’t interested in me. What should I do?

Volunteer work to get the foot in
I tried this approach. 1000+ hours at the Salvation Army Corps. Also a great deal of volunteering in a community co-operative police program. Later applying to get hired in for a salary wage. Neither great efforts went availed. After 1000’s of hours.. it was time to fall off my volunteer post & try to find work more paid for & meeting the time. That could better provide for self (a big point of work. The Money.) It’s not that I didn’t get a lot of satisfaction and esteem and good standing. Some little perks now and then from volunteering. But ultimately The goal was kind of to get one of those great jobs at the end of the tunnel with salary and the respect, the title. Perhaps climb the latter even more. People have respect for volunteers.. it’s admirable in the moment. It is productive use of time rather than plopping on a couch being a blob staring at the wall at home or out the window.. wishing something was going on with your life. So there’s a bittersweetness to it. But I’m still rebounding. And it’s a process for me.. I haven’t always been able to just jump right into something new off the bat .. I devote & institutionalize myself to duties and tasks. Get sort of locked into the mode.. & it takes a bit of therapeutical separation time for me to shake off the old hat. Transform to become someone new & prepared for another opportunity.

Drama at #VolunteersofAmerica
I had wrong directions to clients home; called in for correct address!

VETERANS
I think my best job experience was working for the veterans home .. there's so many different stories and so many different relationships that you get there. There are so many veterans who don't have family anymore that enjoy being able to talk to someone that will listen. I would suggest to anyone who has a little time to spare to volunteer at a Veterans Home.

Typing of your shared experience regarding volunteership...
Hi everyone! If and when typing about volunteership, can you guys share the company website? The duties you volunteered to attend to? Sharing that type of info can possibly employ the unemployed. Thanks! ; )

Medical Opportunities
For those of you who are not End who might be new grad CNAs or seeking other patient contact positions, here is a suggestion. If you are not working or only working part time in a NON medical position, check Hospitals in tour area for Volunteer Departments. Once you find one (and most hospitals have them), go ahead and volunteer. When various managers see how well you interact with patients and staff members they may become interested in hiring you. You will have become a "known" entity rather than someone totally unknown. This is the reason why employee referrals frequently are hired ahead of the general applicant population. If someone has an excellent employee performance record, it is assumed that anyone they refer would most likely make a good employee.
