My favorite thing about UPS

For me, my favorite part of working for UPS is that we give back to the people and communities we serve. UPS this past year helped send 263 relief shipments across 43 countries during hard times. A bunch of us even planted some trees on Earth Day last year. I just like the fact that they care. It says a lot and makes me proud to work for them.

Volunteering at #Nederland,Texas changed me

I have lived in Nederland , Texas all my life . I want someone to drive through Nederland , and say i want to live here . I was really dissapointed the way our town was looking and nothing was being done . I decided to make it my job to clean things up . I volunteered my time , tools and truck to haul debris from cleaning the sidewalks of Nederland Avenue . I was raised by my parents to respect others . I was taught if you want something you have to work for it .

Interview

I had not needed an interview but they needed to make sure I could do the things they needed me to before allowing it to be a regular thing. Although I was told volunteer work helped get me job and it hasn’t yet

I overcame a stressful time at work while being a guest/ volunteer at Interfaith Sanctuary:

I had to learn to be patient with guests and volunteers, as well as be forceful or demanding when certain guests were unwilling to bath. All guests are required to shower upon entering Interfaith Sanctuary, if they wish to stay, including myself. I also learned that people can be rather disrespectful when told they need to shower if they wish our hospitality, otherwise, they were sent to eitherCity of Light's for women, or River of Life for men.
