And that's 5
Well guys if you didn't see the post I put up yesterday regarding my interview with Verizon on sept 21. When I was finished they told me that with 3-5 Buisness days they would let me know if I got the position or not. Get this no more than 24 hours later (sept 22) I got a email from Verizon stating that I didn't get the position. You wouldn't believe how bumbed out I was about that because I enjoyed the atmosphere Verizon had at their office plus it was lively, energetic and fun.
To conclude that's 5 jobs that I was rejected from since I first started looking for work 7 months after my college graduation. I went back to the Verizon career page and saw the same position available but was posted a week a go so WTH might as well re-apply
SIGH but in seriousness I am at the end of my rope. Getting rejected a few months a go was never a big deal for me. But, getting rejected from a job that I actually liked sucks.
I am currently thinking what I did wrong until I realized I did a lot of things wrong. I had alittle bit of stuttering because I was nervous (who wouldn't be) I believe I also messed up on the scenarios they gave me.
IDK what I am going to do at this point

Interview aftermath
Well I just finished my interview with Verizon yesterday. And to be honest I don't know how I feel about it. I answered all their questions with best of my knowledge a stuttered a bit because I was nervous. They even gave me a scenario I had to play out. And lastly I told them about my skills such as me being a multi-lingual. They told me in 3-5 Buisness days they would get back to me with a yes or no either on email or phone call. I was I bit discouraged about how many ppl their were being interviewed for the same position. This showed me that my chances are low getting this job. IDK maybe I'll get lucky. Here's hoping.

"The Gender Card"...
Did you see that Yahoo! just sold to Verizon? This is big news in the tech world. Yahoo was one of the originals, at one time their internet business alone was valued over $100billion - it sold for 4+ this week (fyi: for those checking, the stock ticker Yahoo reflects more the value of their ownership stake in ali-baba than the internet property itself). The latest CEO has been Marissa Mayer. She has her fans and she has her detractors. But throughout her tenure there has always been an echo of any reporting that covers her as a woman-CEO, as a special interest story next to the standard CEO articles. I know a lot of gender bias still exists in the workplace. I know most of it creates headwinds and political potholes and awkwardness than many women navigate each day. Here is an article in which Marissa is cited for the first time really addressing it. I am wondering what our female Jobcaser's views are about Marissa, about women CEO's vs. men, and about gender bias in workplace in general.. whadayathink?

Strike!!
What happens to picketing employees when unions go on strike? I was reading an article on the Verizon strike where an average of 36K employees originally walked off the job in protest. I understand and agree with their right to demand better wages, benefits, or working conditions but at what risk. Can those employees lose their jobs for standing with the union or are there jobs guaranteed when an agreement is met?
