USPS offer pulled after a GIS background check? Here’s what I wish I knew sooner
If your USPS hiring status changed after a background check and the message is vague or “final,” don’t assume the report was accurate. A lot of people get hit by preventable issues like:
- Someone else’s record attached to them (mixed file)
- Missing court outcomes (no disposition shown)
- Dismissed/reduced cases showing up wrong
- Old or sealed/expunged items still appearing
What to do next (practical steps):
- Save screenshots/emails and any reference numbers.
- Request your full report from the screening vendor (often GIS/HireRight).
- Dispute specific line items and attach proof (court disposition is the strongest).
- Keep proof of submission and track the timeline for the reinvestigation response.
This isn’t about “arguing with USPS support.” It’s about fixing the underlying data so you’re not reapplying with the same error baked in.

Before your interview at #USPS make sure to...
First, be prepared for hard work, long hours and management that isn’t always gracious. There really isn’t a job at USPS that isn’t hard. As a career employee, the benefits outweighed the inconveniences but be prepared to make sacrifices. If you aren’t that kind of person then save yourself time and frustration and don’t apply

One thing I would have loved to have at #Usps was
More employees, vehicles that didn’t age back to the 1970s, better pay, less upper management
