My advice to people interested in working at #Serva as a #FieldTechnician ...

good luck, the management currently there is a joke. the one and only supervisor there is a 30 year old "know it all"! i'd advise looking elsewhere for a solid job.

The biggest mistake I made as a #ContractAdministrator at #BAESystems ...

Took off early on an important day. My son broke his arm.

Drama at #BAESystems

I always try to stay neutral and help the person get or do what is needed. Stay calm and level headed. I have a good personality so it wasn’t hard to calm her down and explain the misunderstanding.

What I loved working at #BAESystems

Building trucks for the military. We built the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles. Contract no longer with BAE. The Government prefers not to have a sole source contractor.

Where am I?

After being laid off as result of investor buyout, merging 2 companies together, 4 yrs of double domain upheaval, new business model, hardware changes, major software swapping, remote contractors being remotely supported and an on call phone shared by 3 people making work/life balance nonexistent, I was finally hit by tenured personnel being replaced by contract workers like in most other departments. Was so much that it was almost a relief to have 3 months severance pay for sabbatical purposes but now have been in job search mode for 6 months and just not sure where I am. Nothing but 2/3 pay contract or contract to hire prospects doing what I was doing. Have tried to get other jobs closer to home where work/life balance of no commute time and money offsets the lower pay, ones I'm capable of doing but no experience making a living doing on resume. Just a lot of interviews leading to nothing. Not sure if 33 yrs in IT is it or over qualified appearance of bolting back to other job offer or no resume experience or what. Doesn't seem I can even score entry level stuff. Kind of lost as to what to even try for at this point.

Looking for Professional audio technician positions or display audio technician for professional event venues and retail store set ups retail stores and on stage

I have applied for many positions in this field in San Francisco where i reside and can't get the job to save my life. I have applied at various places live Target and Best Buy. never hear from them after i apply. i follow up. I call. never return calls or apply. Why do they do that to people who are dedicated hard working and show up on time everyday for work like me. I'm starting to think that they only hire Caucasian Americans for these top positions as they are the only people i see doing the job when i am in any of the stores. WHY? i have a Certification in professional Audio/ Live Sound and Video from 1996. plus over 20 years experience as a Front of House Engineer and Stage Technician. Have toured with many bands over the years and with all my credentials still can't get the job in my city because of my skin color. And they all say that they are "Equal Opportunity Employers. Bullshit. its Racism and its wrong. they pick and choose who they want for these key positions based on there first and last names or who they are related to in the upper management departments. 90% of those people have no experience in the field whatsoever. i have seen displays in some San Francisco stores that were screwed up and you can tell the person who set them up obviously didn't know what he/she was doing. And i bet you they still are working there. GO FIGURE. All i know is that its not fair. i been applying for these positions when they become available for over 10 plus years and still can't get the job. I really want you to look into this and get me the right answers. PLEASE. Its unfair and its wrong.
