Trying to do a job that required a special tool with another tool and it just delayed the job instead of saving time so after that lesson I made sure to buy the tools I needed for certain jobs.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure safety of all employees Ability to resolve conflict Make recommendations to Leadership on opportunities and disciplinary suggestions Schedule Drivers to meet customers' expectations Manage the KPI’s for service and safety Communicate with customers, and company employees on delivery concerns Ensure customer’s requirements are being met Manage and coordinate overall transportation activities Manage fleet and equipment repair and regular maintenance through the service provider to ensure equipment availability Execute administrative duties including but not limited to payroll Coordinate Driver Schedules Actively looking for opportunities to be more efficient and productive Confirm that Drivers are in accordance with DOT regulations i.e. Drug and Alcohol Policy, HOS Investigate Damages, collisions, and other transportation-related issues Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years progressive management experience, preferably in transportation General Accounting and Payroll Experience preferred Working Knowledge of Onboard Computers Working knowledge of TMS platforms Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Flexible Hours, being on call as needed Familiar with Continuous Improvement processes Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations that govern a safe work environment Read, write, speak and understand English well Have a working knowledge of all DOT regulations that govern your particular job Understanding of the Transportation industry Punctual, meticulous and reliable Benefits Offered

Be sure to know all federal and state laws on discrimination. Don't take Verbal Abuse from Unauthorized personally nod the head up and down. Skateboarders often have moms that work in the buildings, you cite them they whine to mommy, come out, give you the script that mom gave you "your rude." Don't become site supervisor.
