Let me ask the managers a question...
Why would a manger tell an upwardly mobile employee that once they get their next promotion, that is the end of the road? I think this would have a significant impact on thier confidence and moral, creating discouragement and resentment. It doesn't seem right.

How do I move up to a manger position
how do I move up to a mangers position?

My boss was proud of me when I...
After 20 years still don't get good job. They look for us to make am error and then they'll let us know how they want in done. We can't do right by them most of the time.

Better future
For some time, I've been trying to exit entry level jobs. I am seeking hands on training, outside of entry level positions. I want to gain more experience and the knowledge to achieve a brighter future. I will do whatever it takes.
My only question is, where do I go from here?

Thinking about changing careers path
Hello Everyone, Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I've been thinking for some time to change my career path. For 12 years I've been a medical biller and 6 months ago I got a promotion as a Team Director. At first I felt great because it was something I wanted to achieve. However, the job is redundant and I am just tired of sitting behind a computer all day with no interaction with people. I have a lively, outgoing, and fun personality and my employees really love the way I manage the team. It is getting to the point where I feel miserable and unhappy. I am really looking into the airline industry for flight attendant position. What's holding me back is that I feel that at 43 years of age I would be considered to be to old to even consider being a flight attendant. Is it natural to feel that way or am I overthinking. If there are any flight attendants out there, I would really appreciate your advise or anyone's in that matter.

Unfair
I am currently working at a company that I have been with for almost eleven years. The Upper Management has turned over seven times. I have been promoted several times. As of three weeks ago, I was a Manager. A woman was hired under me one year ago. I was taken into the conference room with the newest President and the Human Resource Manager and was told that the women under me would now be my boss. They claimed their reason was because the two people in my department were not trained on all the buys. Funny thing is, they never asked me if they were trained or not. It was clear from the conversation, that this move was premeditated. I was also told that I am now on probation (like I'm a new hire!). "If" I do want is needed, they will make me a different type of manager within the same department. I asked what they would like to see done and was told we would have a meeting "next week" to discuss. Next week has come and gone with no meeting. Matter of fact, the President hasn't even looked or spoken to me at all. Four days ago while I was in the bathroom, my computer was confiscated. They are claiming it might have a virus. Normally IT would log in remotely to scan for viruses. I have never heard of someones computer being taken from them. They have me logged into offline type server.
The new woman in charge of this department let the other girl in it know that she needs to "gain as much knowledge" from me as possible. I don't feel that I should help her gain anything at this point. If she didn't have the knowledge, she should not have been given my job (she shouldn't have accepted it)!
There has to be something I can do to report this abuse.
Rant over. Thanks for listening.

Go above and beyond to get above and beyond!
World of work can be hard and, like life, rarely “fair”. But with polite persistence you can get ahead. There is really just one main way - go above and beyond. Outperform expectations! Go the extra mile! You are being compensated to do a job. While appreciated, one rarely gets to jump ahead fast for simply doing their job well. The way tonite accelerate your growth is to do more than your job. If you understand what metrics matter most to your employer, and what work you can help your colleagues and supervisor do faster/better-then you’ll start to stand out.
What can you do this week at your job that is above and beyond the normal call of duty? What have you done already this month? Do u have a story where this worked out for you? #gettingAhead #promotion

I’m a little bothered
I’m be working at my current job for about almost 8 years now and been wanting to advance to other departments, my employer knows that I’ve been wanting to advance to a higher level job to get a better pay or just get to transfer to another department to learn new skills but my employer will not let me, about not even one year ago my employer hired a temp and was hired permanent already advanced twice. I have all the experience that I should of advance to another department. I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m a great hard working never any problems always early never late. Always do my work and other peoples work as well. I’m not sure why they don’t want to advance me to a better position. I’m guessing no room for advancement for me. I’m super nice to everyone and get along with everyone. I just wish that I could get a better position at my job. I know it’s hard to get a job out their but will not leave my job until I find the job I want and it has to be better pay as well. Any suggestions on what I should do with my job. Thank you in advance

Over worked
I recently was given a promotion to an assistant manager and moved to another store. One of the managers from my other store had medical emergency and I was needed. I worked ten days at my other store had one day off then another ten days on. Now my store manager is out for surgery and both of my other assistant managers come in early in the morning so there is no coverage for me if I need to call in. I just had a death in the family and have not had one day to mourn since then is this fair or even legal.
