I might be too aggressive

I feel like I have so many skills that I can be a key asset to any organization.. But am I over confident ? Or perhaps too aggressive? I came out the gate at my current job proposing a lot of changes, citing that their current business model is inefficient.. And although I was promoted to department supervisor within 2 months, everyone hates me & I haven't gotten a raise.. I see no point in assuming responsibility without compensation.. Am I suffering from some form of grandious personality disorder. . or is this really as f'ed up as I think...

Does “brownosing” effect all job sectors

I was the best at sales, lending ( both delinquency rates return customers and quantity. However, it seemed to me that the people at the top making the promotions were always “kissing #ss” regardless of their production or knowledge. Have others had similar situations? What is the best way to address this problem?

Wrongful termination

I was terminated from my job after almost 5 year with the company and 4 years consecutive top sales awards 2 weeks before Christmas 2017.
In the November prior my boss told me what a tremendous job I was doing and told he I would have a career home at his office as long as he was alive and kicking. I got promotion, a new office w a window, and a raise. After coming in and working on a Friday I was supposed to have off, and as I was leaving to go home, my boss called me in my new office to have a chat. I go in & sit, he comes in, stares at the floor, refuses to look me in the face, and says despite my hard work and years of dedication, it has been decided that he terminate my employment then he just walked out. No reason, no excuse, no prior notice, nothing. Come to find out, his wife hated me and demanded he fire me; so he terminated me to keep his 3rd wife happy while firing me for no good reason just 2 weeks before Christmas as a single mother with 2 kids... SC unemployment has been no help

Retaliation

What would you do if two mgnt positions opened and you applied for them just to have your boss call you to his office and tell you that you have the right attitude ,drive , ambition but that you still have rough edges to smooth out , then he tells you to give him six months and that he will personally train you . So you agree, them two days later two mgrs call you into an office and tell you that they don't like your job performance and that they are going to demote you and throw you in the graveyard shift because anyway you are a good employee. You've been associate of the month several times have received awards and certificates but now you have been demoted pay taken away, and not to mention your yearly evaluation they gave you a bad score because since they had just moved you to a different Dept you had gotten a raise for that , so they gave you a bad score because you can't get a double raise . So now you have been demoted , no raise , chances for a promotion killed , and thrown overnight , after getting awardsvand all that . Now that you put in to get a promotion all this happens . Is it retaliation ?

Employee Discrimination At Waste Management ln The U.S 2018

I am a African American women. I worked at WM for about 8 months in Commerce California as a customer service representative and was racially discriminated against. I was fired on the same day of my pay raise. I was on time everyday, I had no write ups or warnings, my performance was outstanding, l never missed any days and I received a lot recognition awards. In May l was promised a promotion transfer to commercials ,instead someone else got the position. I felt sooo bad. WM management was so hostile and racist towards me. I tried to reach out to HR. and management but know response. My supervisor gave me an unlawful write up according to the the LABOR Board Ca. Section 200 because I had a subpoena to go to court to protect my life due to domestic violence I was working mored than 40 hrs a week. How Horrible! I know how you feel Brother.I would like to add on to my WM complaint. I was fired because l was unable to locate a customer's account , in which the customer was not a waste management customer and thought they were. Proir to this incident rasicst comments was being made towards me several times by management. I am African American women. WM call center had about 155 Hispanics employees and 20 African American employees. It was hard getting a job at WM. The average African American in my dept. was employed no more than 2 yrs or less per employee and the Hispanics get a chance to retire from the company. WM is a revolving door for colored people. WM hires bout 10 colored employees once or twice a year and only terminate and rehire colored people only because WM must comply with the EEOC Board. I was fired for no real reason.

Making lower compensation than anyone who gets hired into a similar or the same position.

I have been with my company for over 4 years and have had 3 different positions. I was hired at the very bottom and my salary was pretty much the lowest the company hires people at. I have finally moved up and became a level 2 a year ago when I was hired for a level 3 position but HR wanted to keep me as a 1 and not give me a raise. I was promised a raise in my previous role before I decided to leave and they did not hold up that promise. I I then moved positions and got a very small bump that I had to fight for and am still at the lowest of the low for my position. Anyone that gets hired off the streets receives a good 10-20k more than I do a year. If I leave my company I cannot come back for a year and my current position is work from home. I really do like my position and am learning a lot and gaining great knowledge to become a project manager but I don’t feel I am being compensated fairly... should I leave or go to HR? We have appraisals coming up in a month and we just did a re-org for our whole department so I am worried there will be no money for raises. I’m thinking if I do not get one then I should definitely look to move on? Any thoughts? It’s hard to give up a work from home position that I actually really like!

The bittersweet reality that a change in job is inevitable....

I really like my job but the writing is on the wall that I must bid my work adieu since there is no upward mobility both fiscally and organizationally as I was not offered a higher salary nor are they opening any long vacant middle management position for which I currently perform the duties... alas i will not allow for much ado about nothing... Hello, world!!!

Motivation

This is a story that my stepdad shared with me many years ago.

He worked at the B&O railroad. He started a summertime job there as a yard worker in 1946 when he was just 16 and still in high school. He was ALWAYS on time. He NEVER called in. When his manager came looking for him, he was ALWAYS where he was supposed to be and doing what he was supposed to be doing. He was ALWAYS the first to clock in and always the last to leave. At lunch, he would eat and then IMMEDIATELY go right back to work. At the end of his 1st summer, the supervisor told him "if you come back next year, you've got a job." He worked both summers during high school. One day they asked him if he wanted to become a yard engineer. He did that for a couple years. Then they asked if he wanted to go into the engineer training program. This man was a full rated engineer at 21 years old. He worked for the SAME company for 46 years. Retiring when he was 62.

Point of this story is, whenever you a hired to do a job, you should always try to do the best job that you possibly can do. SOMEONE IS ALWAYS WATCHING EVEN WHEN YOU THINK THEY'RE NOT!!!
