You Can Too! It keeps getting better and better! Here is a Positive and Encouragement Note I thought I would share with you all! Back in June, I joined the union with my company. As a new member, I became interested in what they had to offer. One of the things I soon learned was an election was taking place in September of this year. With a thought in mind after listening to other members' complaints of how they didn't have a person who represents them or someone to listen to there needs. After Story after Story Of hearing what was being said I decided to jump into the race. As a single dad, I went home that night at dinner and I talked it over with my daughters. Explaining to them how my union members voiced their concerns and how I could help. With their approval and blessings, I took out the nomination papers and collected enough signatures actually 100 more than needed I was being placed on the ballot. The next day my daughters and I put a plan into action. I shared my ideas and there's too. We decided we would do it together on foot. We went to the store and I purchased 3 pairs of running shoes and off we went to place to place night after night. Meeting With the members and introduced them to my daughters and explained how I would be there for them as best I could. One thing for sure was I promised to make change where change is needed. I promised to listen to no matter if it was just to vent. Asking them what their concerns were and suggestions to fox it would be? September 03, 2019 was the election and out of 4,000 voters, I managed to get 3,246 votes and the top vote seeker. This is my swearing-in ceremony on Oct 3rd Along with the other delegates who won too! When they called our name and introduced us, the president of our union said. Let me introduce to you a person who jumped into the race late and obtained the most votes out of everyone it is with great pleasure to introduce the top vote-getter Michael Carvalho. When I went to the mike to give my speech I simply said. As I start my journey with the promise I made to each of you I stand before you tonight to Thank you for believing in me. With that said I have passed out my phone number for each of you to have and take advantage of by calling me as promised. I couldn't have done it without you and Thank you all!
