Job with Dream Company Downsized :(

I waited YEARS to get "in" at #ConnectionsAcademy. The virtual K-12 Public School established by beloved Barbara Dreyer was one of the first of its kind (not to be confused with #Stride 's #K12). As soon as I found my in, #Pearson became our parent company. My department had always been the smallest and barely visible on the larger, corporate scale. So when time came for budget cuts, we found ourselves on the list.

Its my own fault for not making more moves towards a larger department, one that would better utilize my education, but my team became my family and it was difficult to find the right reasons to want to leave them.

So here I am back on Jobcase again, looking for a new Company soulmate, after losing my own to Pearson. Good bye, #ConnectionsAcademy. I will miss that work environment and company.

Afraid to Change my Profile

I have landed a temporary job at the company of my dreams Pearson/Connections Academy, and while I consider myself employed, I only started Monday and I feel like it's too soon to change all of my employment statuses. Lack of confidence maybe? Is this job too good to be true? I don't want to get ahead of myself but I'm afraid something will go wrong. I guess I should just enjoy it while I can and work to secure a permanent position, and stop worrying about statuses haha. Have a good day everyone!

GOT ONE!

After 2.5 months of being unemployed, I am overjoyed to announce that I got a job! It is with Connections Education/Pearson Online Learning as a Temporary Customer Returns Representative. The temporary status is due to the company growing and they need assistance now, but not sure if they will continue to need the position. I've been trying to get with this company for 4 years, so I consider this opportunity, at the very least, a foot in the door.

This job is perfect for me- - some in office work, and work from home opportunities, based in customer service, but in the education field. I'm really excited to start!

The biggest mistake I made as a #Cook at #Pearson'sCafe ...

So there was a time when we didn't have cheese sauce for the mac and cheese and I decided to make my own cheese sauce. But even though it was sufficient for me and the customers, and it solved the problem it wasn't sufficient for the company recipe. So therefore that was a mistake that was good for the customers but not the company because it wasn't the company recipe.
