Well, I listened to them. I was friendly, fair and firm. My three F’s. They weren’t concerned about how much I knew until they experienced how much I cared. I had so many conflict resolution opportunities that no “one” stands out.

My staff gave me authority in my position not by just having the position. I earned their respect by my actions and nurtured that relationship through honesty, confidentiality.
