My advice to people interested in working at #NorthamptonCopublicschools as a #Substituteteacher ...
Working in a rural school district is alot different than other area school. There is definitely alot of diversity in Northampton Co. And for someone like myself who would be considered an outsider because that isn't my hometown and I didn't have alot of family in the area it takes a versitile kind of personality to be able to adapt to the different language of the county.

My advice to people interested in working at #NorthamptonCopublicschools as a #Substituteteacher ...
Please invest the time in our students. I've worked at every grade level and even 2 weeks at the alternative school. There is always room for one more good teacher and our children are worth the investment of your time to nurture their minds and their personalities. I found teaching even at the level of substitute one of the best ecperiences of my life. I urge anyone who enjoys working with children and understands the importance of shaping young minds in a positive direction to consider working at North Hampton Co public schools.

The biggest mistake I made as a #Substituteteacher at #NorthamptonCopublicschools ...
The biggest mistake I made I think was not wanting to be a full time teacher. I feel now I could have been a more effective teacher rather than a substitute. I didn't realize the positive impact a teacher could have on a child until I was called to either speak with a student I knew or being able to help resolve an issue between students. I saw myself as just a substitute teacher only to realize years later when I've run into students who remember me how much more I could have offered had I decided to become a full time teacher.

The most stressful day was my assigned class was the classroom my daughter was in. It was a challenge for me because I was there as the teacher and not her mom per say. And of course I'm sure it was exciting for her to have mom as the substitute that day but it was certianly a challenge for me. I must admit my daughter was the most difficult student of the day.

Drama at #NorthamptonCopublicschools
The last time a student got angry with me I referred the student to the school counselor.. as his behaviors were disruptive and I wanted to.avoid any further confrontation with other students while being respectful to maintain classroom control as well as the safety of the other students.
