My advice to people interested in working at #MesaSprings as a #Receptionist ...

WATCH YOUR BACK! You are only a body, no matter if you are working up a sweat trying to accommodate everyone and everything or not.

The biggest mistake I made as a #Receptionist at #MesaSprings ...

What got me fired as a receptionist was saying (talking to the computer)"what the hell? This is all wrong" after numerous times complaining to my supervisor that the information I was working with was not accurate. I actually thought I had said this under my breath without being heard as it was noisy in the lobby. But MY BIGGEST mistake was admitting to my error verbally and in writing. They had cameras watching but no audio. I should have lied. But it is not how I was brought up.

What is VERY stressful as a receptionist is when you have what is called MOT (= method of transportation) from either a county jail or John Peter Smith hospital (county hospital) come in (lot of times future patient is in handcuffs) while visitation of current patients is also going on and walk in's with or without appointments. Working the 2nd shift (4:00 pm- 11:00 pm) there is no one available for back up support. You are on your own! You are responsible for getting new patients seen (MOT's are 99% of the time a known/given) AND keeping up with the company policy of 2 visitors per patient going behind locked doors to visit their loved one and ensure you know who is coming out the locked doors before unlocking them.

Drama at #MesaSprings

I was fired un-justly simply because a deranged woman wrote to my direct CEO, Corp. CEO, some national psychiatric hospital magazine, and Medicare stating I said something that I DID NOT SAY. She was not even a potential patient. Simply a woman in the lobby as I worked as a receptionist THOUGHT she heard me say something when I did not. Either she mis-heard something or someone else say it as I was on the phone. I had heard of numerous times employees were accused of something and Mesa Springs answer is to simply fire them. Very sad they have no employee loyalty what so ever! I was praised every ten days or so if not weekly by potential patients AND existing patients family stating how well of a job I was doing, that they could not do themselves. Very complimentary. How helpful and sympathetic I was to them and the potential patient. Upon further thinking of all this person email, I couldn't help but wonder if she had some inside help with names and email addresses. Does anybody REALLY know of AN email to MEDICARE?
