Among the best aspects of working here I’d say, firstly, is the autonomy. There’re a few days of supervision (unless you’ve zero experience) and then you’re on your own. The accounts vary widely, but for a seasoned MT should be a fairly easy acclimation. As with any transcription job, there’re good ones and bad ones - no two ways about it. That’s just part of the job and expected/understood. My personal favorite aspect was the straight typing (no speech/voice recognition), which makes your proofreading so much easier. I do believe the pay scale could be improved upon, especially for qualified folks. I’d definitely work here again.

Biggest mistake? Expecting commensurate pay with experience. And expecting the promised bonus that never came.

I am 74 years old but don't look my age at all. I am fit and perfectly sharp mentally. I can hardly get anyone to respond to my resume, which is full of skills that would be needed almost anywhere. Should I decline to state my age online?

Hi everyone! I live in Hudson, Fl. and am in need of a full time job. The company I work for now (which is non-profit) has laid several employees off, including me and my position. This is my second non-profit I worked for that I have been laid off due to lack of grant money they were expecting. I am keeping spirits up and have faith that God has a plan for me, just a little discouraged.
