Last year at work I #MadeADifference when...

In actuality, it was 6 years ago. I made (hopefully) a difference in being the example of the retribution of a company who think of their employees as property. Everything employees are, mind and body, are not the property of the company from 9 to 5 (figuratively) plus some; including that which is not theirs to take regardless of who stands behind them. Whether I am fool and failure or stand up American, the corporate minority are not master though they seemingly given this power by government.

Last year at work I #MadeADifference when...I implemented a best practices policy.

Every employee is encouraged (allowed and expected) to participate in 2 improvement projects per year, based on their own experience. They are encouraged to tackle policies and procedures they find frustrating and bureaucratic. Cash awards are given to the projects which result in big cost savings and efficiency or improvements in morale.

Last year, I made a difference when i created a visual report of our diesel consumption levels recorded by our site engineers daily, using pivot tables in microsoft excel. The report revealed an increasing trend in diesel consumption of some BTS cell sites monthly, whereas the load on the sites had not changed. After inspection of the said sites it was discovered that there was diesel theft going on those sites. This issue normalised when the supervisors were changed. As a result, visual reporting was made compulsory during our operational meetings

Last year at work I #MadeADifference when...

I started working for the Housing Authority of Joliet and noticed that the maintenance work shoo was totally a mess making it difficult to locate parts and tools wich resulted in to much time being spent looking for stuff which was very frustrating. I organized the shop and now when you need a part or tools they all have there specific location. I aso notuced that the building in general was not being cleaned often enough. So I made it my business to clean floors, walls, glass, elevators, stairwells, alittle everyday after a month I was getting complimaents from staff and residence on the noticeable improvement on the cleanliness of the building.
