The greatest thing I enjoyed about working for #Macy's was

One of the greatest things about working at Macy’s was my exposure to versatile skills. Due to the fact that it was my first time working in retail, I knew that it was an opportunity for personal growth. I learned how to operate cash registers, manage merchandise, organize dressing rooms and navigate the company’s website. Most importantly, my occupation enabled me to develop my communication skills. I asked questions to gain unaddressed information, assisted customers and worked alongside my fellow employees. In order to work as a team and supply the needs of the costumers, communication skills were exceptionally vital. Many of the customers had questions concerning department locations, coupon utilization and completing online purchases. When interacting with every customer, I remained calm and personable. Communication is best recieved when it elucidates the solution, and is explained with articulation. It is best not to make assumptions which would increase the likelihood of miscommunication, misperception and premature termination of verbal inquiries.Thankfully, I was able to improve my communication skills while working at Macy’s. The skills in which I learned are not limited to a retail environment. Learning to communicate with people is an applicable skill within any occupation.
