My advice to people interested in working at #TheSunshineHouse as a #Leadteacher ...
Every day is stressful. I am with the 2-3 year olds and they have never had any discipline before I came along. My lead teacher leaves evet day when I get there, and so I am the lead teacher without being called the lead and my assistant is not very well versed in taking care of 2 year olds. Out of my 16 children, one is autistic, and 5 others have serious behavioral issues that need written reports daily. I got a TON of support in the beginning and now, I am just left alone all day. I am the ONLY one who cleans the room and the toys and when I told the director that the small rug in the back corner was moldy and could I please remove it because it made the whole room smell, she told me no. That back corner leaks badly every time it rains. I am trying my best to be a "good" teacher an I really do love my children, but they are too far gone discipline wise and I just am not doing this very well. I didn't sign up to get wooden blocks thrown at my head (with a resulting beautiful scar to remind me of it) nor did I sign on to be kicked spit on or hit. I am left wondering where all of the kindness and support from the director and assistant director went???

Stay away. Especially from certain people there. They are toxic and only there to belittle and make themselves look better.

Thinking that I was actually making a difference. Using my own money for classroom supplies. That they won't give me back. Trusting that if I go my best, I would be rewarded for it.

They don't really treat their employees very well, not very good at communicating with staff. A lot of staff turnover, so watch your back.
