Not moving to Austin to take a Director position, Family took preference

I am having an issue with finding employment in my desired field, I worked in Law enforcement, and from 2014 to 2017 I worked in a jail, was promoted to supervisor, and was described as a "model officer" and "model employee" and was selected to attend the academy for full LEO certification. My issue is this:

In 2016 I ended up dating and later marrying a girl that was a fellow officer. I was asked about it in a non investigatory setting by a superior. I made a bad judgement call and denied being in that relationship in september of 2016. Then I went to the academy. In late October of 2016 I was formally questioned about it, and was truthful. They said they'd have to see what would happen. All the while new elections for sheriff were taking place, and another officer whom was having a sexual relationship with a trainee (the guy was our training officer) was never questioned nor disciplined, yet everyone knew this to be fact.

December of 2016 rolls around, I am moved shifts, and still kept my rank and title. An internal investigation happens, I call the PBA, and they tell me to comply, so I was truthful. January of 2017 rolls around, election is finalized and new sheriff takes office, I'm sworn in as a LEO for him. Later that month, the investigation is closed on me and the other officer. She is immediately fired because she is on probationary status. I go to a hearing with the chief deputy, tell him about everything, he says he will have to consider everything. About an hour later, the newspaper prints an article saying that I'm to be fired. I call PBA, tell them this, they flip out and send a lawyer from Atlanta to help me.

I meet with the sheriff, I tell him about my situation, and that I made a mistake. My lawyer intervenes and asks where in policy is it that my relationship is detrimental to the office, because the entire thing was about me lying in an investigation, which I didnt lie in an investigation, and my discreet relationship was detrimental to the image of the office, to which the sheriff could explain how it was.

I'm trying to apply to other LEO jobs but I cant find one that'll take me due to the fact that I have a pending POST investigation, even though I've been cleared for employment and training. I need help with this, I'm so lost in what I can or need to do.

I am a retired Police Chief and a Georgia Certified Executive Instructor.

I have 3 positions of Law enforcement Experience out of 16 years. Most of all I like standing up and protecting and defending the writes for our country as well as our freedom too.

I'm having trouble with job searching in law enforcement with a diploma only.
