#unemployed # unfair

Just had my unemployment hearing over the phone .. feel like I left off some important information.. but I hope I get it because I have been jobless almost going on two months! Its a shame what a temp agency will go through just because they dont want to pay taxes for you to get your unemployment benefits ... I was laid off from one of their clients April 27th . And they claim I didnt call in every week saying that I was available for work ! And they tried to offer me a job a week before my hearing . I find it funny how they never had anything to offer up until last week . They are scammers . Now I have to wait on the appeal referee decision

I interviewed on Tuesday, within an hour I was called by the agency, saying they wanted to offer me the temporary position, then the next day the agency called me back and the company wanted to decrease the salary by $1.38 an hour. Ok fine, still starting on Monday I was told. Friday I get a call from the agency and now the manager of the team wants to interview me next Thursday, 4 days after I am supposed to start. Ok, she had an awards ceremony for one of her children, no big deal. It was just supposed to be a meet and greet. Well, later that day I get the call that I didn't get the job. What??? This company is so backwards. I know the company well I worked for them in a temporary capacity a couple of years ago and loved it. Unfortunately, if this had been the first time interviewing with them I would have thought they were nuts, and wouldn't waste my time again. However, I know that one manager jumping the gun does not make the whole company that way. That particular group just needs to get their act together. BTW, they are still looking for someone to fill this temporary position a month later. Their loss. The point is don't give up on a company that you interviewed with before, one manager messing things up may not be the standard of the company, especially if it is a large company. I had on my resume i had a diploma which is not true not knowing the company i applied for wanted the institution name where i received it at which i had to give that info on the computer... I also did my criminal background which I'm not concerned about... I was already hired and given my start date and pay and hours. The background had came last and this is at an call Center...I was also fired from my last call center job but i don't think they are going to check far as the back ground I'm not sure Do anyone know will this come back and affect me or do anyone knows anything about this?

I am slowly going insane right now. The stress of bills looming, and temping to make ends meet.. I feel like jumping off a cliff. I'm currently waiting on an in-person interview with United Healthcare Optum, which would be my third interview with them. Also waiting to see if I got another job I interviewed for at WSSU. Finally, I was connected with someone through a friend of mine for a job at the hospital near me. HR supposedly tried contacting me a week ago, but didn't have my correct number. The guy from the hospital must be on vacation because I've been told to call him directly, and he never answers. Blah!! This has been the hardest year of my life since relocating from NY to NC. Sheesh

I did not have an answer for my ciworker so I turned to the blog. She had a background check by her and my current employer. I recieved none but she has not gotten hers. She wanted to know what is taking it so long. She was offered another job at a different company and concerned about her background. I told her to be honest if anything is there. Any advice I can pass on to her?

My biggest mistake at Sears in Downers Grove, IL was accepting the job. That particular store is the worst job I have ever had! The pay is horrible, they offer no benefits, no pay raises, the managers are the most unpleasant people I have ever met. They treat their employees with the utmost disrespect. The assistant manager had an incident with me where she became physically aggressive because I told her that she was an unpleasant person. The store manager will always talk to you with a condescending approach if you don't know something. No other managers are willing to help teach you anything without an attitude. Every customer that comes in is extremely rude and considers you below them, but yet expects you to know how to solve every single one of their problems for them. If you can't, you better expect the worst attitudes from them. I would not recommend a job at Sears in Downers Grove, IL to my worst enemy! If you get a job offer from them, please just continue your search elsewhere!
