Are you a Jobcaser of the Week ($100 award)? If not, maybe next week?
It can pay to help people in the Jobcase Community! Five Jobcasers are selected as the Jobcasers of the Week, and they are awarded $100 for:
- 1 - Providing helpful answers to questions by fellow Jobcasers
- 2 - Having a fully filled out profile, including a profile picture
Here are the Jobcasers of the Week!
Kaitlan Watson - Connect with Kaitlan
Kaitlan replied to a question about the training needed to qualify for a Nanny job:
- “I’ve been a full-time nanny for 7 years now. Make sure that you’re CPR & first aid certified! Very few families will hire someone that isn’t certified. Having a clean driving record is also a big deal for families. You’ll have to pass a background check as well. Having previous experience with children (babysitting, teaching, children of your own) is a huge plus!!”
Samantha Fontanez - Connect with Samantha
Samantha replied to a question about the education qualification requirements for a job at Game Stop:
- “For a sales associate or key holder you do not need a degree. Nor do you need a degree for an assistant manager or store manager but it is best if you have the experience for it… hope this helps!”
Amanda Durham - Connect with Amanda
Amanda replied to a question about the employee training offered at Cummins:
- “They focus on training a lot so that you'll not get overwhelmed and you'll stick around. Cummins invests time and energy in every employee because Cummins isn't where you go to work, Cummins is where you go to retire.”
Roberta Elhaddad - Connect with Roberta
Roberta replied to a question about what it takes to become an Administrative Assistant:
- “I think what makes a great assistant administrator is having the office skills necessary to be proficient but also having the ability to recognize needs and then implement the actions necessary to achieve them.”
Eric Drake - Connect with Eric
Eric replied to a question about how working as a Teacher helps grow one’s career:
- “First, teaching is a high calling - every bit as much as a doctor, lawyer, pastor, etc. If you don't feel that calling, don't even make the attempt. Second, it can be a comfortable and very fulfilling career. Third, plan appropriately, be fiscally responsible, and keep appropriate expectations, and a career in teaching can be wonderful!”
Congratulations to this week’s Jobcasers of the Week!

Has anyone ever applied for a job that turned out not to be what you thought?
Update
So I did do the second interview and I ended declining the job. So as it turned out the job was actually an outside sales person ( those ppl that stand outside asking for donations to different causes). Now I did down any job because that’s isn’t for me and I don’t like wasting anyone’s time, but it is definitely a turn off when a job is advertised as one thing and is something completely different.
I applied for this job. The position posted was office assistant. I had my first interview today which was more of an information session. I have now been selected for a second interview tomorrow but I am researching this job again because during the interview/information session today I got that the feeling that this job is what I am thinking it is. So I’m debating if I should attend the interview tomorrow for confirmation or should I just go ahead and cut ties now? #interview #application

OMG that happened to me with a company with the initials of EG. I thought I would be working as a community relations coordinator for a specific nonprofit and do some fundraising at events. They wanted me to go to different venues and set up a table outside to solicit donations. I was ok with it until they said the schedulewas M-Sat for everyone. I may would have applied anyways had they just been upfront, but it did seem a little deceptive on the front end. I didn't like that.

My advice to people interested in working at #ALL-TEMP LOGISTICS / MELROSE STRG DISTRIBUITION AND USDA INSPECTION SITE I122\n\nDISPATCH ALL TEMP LOGISTICS ...
Is a Family owned company. Good company to work for

Yes. I’m a career HR Professional, and I enjoy the engagement. I’ve told some of my HR colleagues about it.

What are some helpful tips to get back on my feet?
Back in June I decided to leave a company who I loved working for unfortunately there was no to little communication often between me and my boss that created a lot of miscommunications. Soon shortly there was a death in the family soon later another. I want to go back to work. currently stuck in this funk and not sure where to start.
How can help me for the this job
