My advice to people interested in working at #FEMAVanguard as a #Inspector ...

Its a good company to work for with very rewarding and inspiring benefits! Gratifying is an apporiate word. I loved the work because I love people, red, yellow, black, or white. They are all humans who have gone through difficulties. Therefore, you must love people and be empathetic toward their feeling during a disaster! I was truly blessed to work with this agency!

The biggest mistake I made as a #Inspector at #FEMAVanguard ...

My biggest mistake was on my first inspection. I was working alone with the client trying to get use to my tablet, and after taking several pictures, I failed to save them. When I went to the local headquarters in Jacksonville, to check my tablet, my pictures were not there I had to go back to the residence & retake the pictures! Mistake corrected!

I had an assignment in Hilliard, Florida, country town, whereby I had to travel down long country roads where the houses were 10 to 25 miles apart. Just about every day, after going to far into wooded dirt road areas with few houses, I would loose phone service & get lot with no phone service or GPS! I would get lost on long country roads where few cars traveled. But, I would wave a car down, when one came by or I saw a person on a tractor to obtain direction! My biggest concern was not being able to contact my customers to let them know, I was lost and running late. I learned the locations where I could get a hot spot & I found the sheriff's office to go to for directions to different roads. Being lost on a country road with no phone service was very stressful. However, I mastered the problem and it became a joy to drive through the country roads singing my favorite songs!

What I loved working at #FEMAVanguard

As an Inspector with FEMAVanguard, l loved meeting and helping people of all ethnicities. My previous Employmen with Texas Dept. of Health & Human Services as a Personnel & Training Officer(23 yrs.) gave me the opportunity to interview & train potential employees for their jobs. This included a variety of cultures! Also, as a license Insurance Agent I met & connect with all cultures & ages to assist them with insurance needs! In addition, I'm a licensed Minister and I love reaching people through preaching & counselling to enrich their lives!
