Preparing for the opening of scholl was both stressful and exciting.

The children were eager to pearn. I gained trust of many parents!

I would highly recommend Clayton County Public Schools to anyone who wants to teach. It's a great place to work; I like it and it's close to home. The teaching profession is a challenging one, no matter what school district you teach in. However, Clayton County Public Schools is a good place to work at because of the good, dedicated teachers and the supportive faculty and staff. Everyone works with you to get the job done. At the end of the day, everyone has done their best.

The biggest mistake I made was writing up too many students on a given day. Even though they behaved horribly, and they were extremely disrespectful, I could've handled the day differently. I probably will never teach at that school again. The students are notorious for behaving badly.

I think that perhaps the most stressful day was when there was a fight in my class. When students fight, pandemonium ensues. Everything having to do with teaching and learning ceases. I had to stop what I was doing, put the fighting students out, ensure the safety of the other students, and immediately call for security, the police or an administrator. Afterwards, I had to document everything that happened and compose myself so that I could focus on the teaching and learning process once again.

The last time a student made me angry, I wrote the child up on a disciplinary referral and excused myself from the classroom. When I returned, I was much better able to function and focus.

I enjoyed the early hours and the flexibility I was able to work. You can work as often or as little as you would like. On certain days, you can choose not to work at all.

I landed my job at Clayton County Public Schools as a teacher because of my educational background, my college degrees and my work experience combined.
