When I worked at #ChildcareCareers I gave great advice when

I like child care careers I only left because i had to find a new job, I really wanted to stay with child care careers but I couldn’t because I have bills to pay .I just think you guys should raise the pay maybe 1 or 2 more dollars.I also plan on coming back as well . This is what I like to do and I want to further my education more in the education field with children.

The most stressful days occur when there is extreme lack of organization in either the classroom, usually do to kack.of experience on teachers part, or a really bad rhythm and lack of clear expectations regarding children's behavior, which results in disciplinary issues among students, verbally abusive teachers, stressed out teachers, too many toddlers in one room and high and unrealistic expectations from a director, directors who are disorganized, lack of adequit supplies, etc. It puts the sub in a very awkward place. Many private, so called reputable schools have too many babies and toddlers in the same room; the ratio meets star requirements, but the quality of care diminishes and teachers assigned to these rooms know this. Someone at the top of these franchises ( as many of them are) are getting lots of money. The teachers are poorly paid and poorly trained or mentored. Ece unit requirement for job is 6 to 12 units.

I was not asked back. Lost wages for the remainder of the week and it caused me distress knowing I could not please customer. The biggest problem when you cannot please a customer is that if you have an assignment scheduled with the same school the next day, and they have asked not to have you back, you sometimes will not get reassigned for those days and the income loss can have a devastating effect.

My advice to people interested in working at #Childcarecareers as a #Preschoolsubstituteteacher ...

Be willing to let go of your own agenda and personal beliefs when at an assignment. Keep you mouth shut to adults. Be engaging with children. Do what you are told, but always do what is needed, going out of your way to do the best. Teachers who are less experienced then you will easily feel I intimidated so never act as if you know more. Just do what they want with a smile and always volunteer to do more. And know Th ere are just going to be unhappy teachers who should have retired yesterday and will make your day miserable if they can.
