I loved that #Cabela's offers its employees...

The discount Was nice .. But unfortunately they pay way to little for the explanation of the type of work they need done there for most of the new ppl hired r not up for the job pulling alot more on the ones who r capable on top of it they do not look at your job performance. They don't care how you perform at work. They do not work around any types of schedule I had worked there for over a year when my husband passed away. after begging my manager to change my schedule so I could work around daycare she finally did but only at the beginning of November. And as in most cases school for my kids go back in August. so by that time I had either swap shifts with people who called off their for their call off counted on me ... to make it work or had to come in late or leave early they kept me on through the holidays and let me go after Christmas. 10 m after my husband passed away. it's safe to say that exceeded in my job and exceeded company standards on more than one occasion I was there for a little over two years and both my yearly reviews I scored exceeds expectations on everything both times. Over all I did enjoy my job and my coworkers. But bad management can take even the best employee down. I do not think the manager's handle themselves in an ethical way but I guess that's to be expected with a large corporation like Bass Pro.

Drama at #Cabela's

One of the hardest part of working there was the gun department! We have strict requirement when buying a gun and cam take up to a few weeks for someone to pass! This will make a number of people up set! They paid for the gun but can't get it until they pass the test! Often it is not us but the sheriff department that takes forever! But the customer will take their anger out on us!

Too much Customer Service is annoying!!

I’m a #cashier at #Cabela’s which is cool job for the most part but recently I’m feeling constantly pressured by my manager to engage customers while they’re checking out. I always make sure I greet customers coming in and out of the store and I often go out of my way to make myself available for help in the aisles answering customer questions or helping them locate items. I’ve tried to be more engaging at the register but I stopped doing that because I noticed customer just want to pay for their items and go home. Do I need to be more aggressive or is my manager being unreasonable?
