Urg, recruiters....

When people for some reason think I have a Graphic Design background because I have an animation degree. They sure don't know a lot about animation and out training. Most of us with animation training would not do well as graphic. designers. #graphicdesign #animation #degrees #animationtraining #recruiters #rant #annoyed #art #training

Follow your passion !

Since I was a boy I knew that I will end up being a graphic designer, and a musician. As an adult I also stayed in my lane and became confident and got great experience in this field. It’s very important to be true to yourself and know our strengths and talents that way we can shine brighter and have more chances to be successful at life!

Why can't I even get an interview?

Two years ago I moved to the US from a third-world country. I managed to land a job relatively quick at a really good company 2 months after I got my visa. I had to accept the job because of my situation at the time.

I'm an Art Director that built my portfolio around fashion over the last 10 years. The job I currently have is not in the field I specialized in before so I'm keeping an eye out for fashion related vacancies. There are very few opportunities in my area so when they come up on job boards I make sure I put my best foot forward when applying for them.

The problem is I never get any response back form recruiters. Some I even contacted directly on LinkedIn for additional information about the position available. I don't know if applications are run through an automated bot that weeds out certain criteria's or if it's got something to do with my actual application. All these jobs I applied are up to spec with my experience yet it remains unsuccessful.

I would like to open up this discussion to see what might help or what I'm doing wrong.
