Job Fair Advise Needed
Hello Jobcase family. I have been self employed for the last several years up until around March when things sought of fizzled out for my business. I am now trying to enter the job market after all these years and I've revamped my resume and cover letter formats and adapted the attitude that even though I am now 56 years old, I am determined to find the right job. Several of my good friends over the age of 50 have warned me of the nightmares out there for us older folks and I have recently registered for 3 different job fairs for this month. I need some advise on how to handle the job fair market and how I can outshine the competition at my mature age.

Need help
Can a employer terminate a person if they are asked to copy a branded shoe and pass it on as their own and the employee refuse to do so? Is it legal

After 13 months, No fault of my own, I finally got a Temp Job. Problem is that with this place, I feel like I am being choked by all their hidden rules. Also I noticed there is still alot to know and no one is willing to help me get through some of these calls. I want to quit but I am afraid of not getting something else or better right away. Before this, I applied to over 150 places, tried over 14 Temp agencies, that did totally nothing to help me. I even tried the unemployment office. So I am not sure what to do. If anyone can help with this dilemma that would be great.

Legal or Compliance!
I immigrated to the United States two years ago from Tanzania,East Africa. Right away I started Masters Degree in Laws (Corporate,Immigration, Health and Economic Development) and graduated last May.Before coming here I did another Master Degree in Laws (International Law with International Relations) but unfortunately due to moving to states three months before finish it I could not graduate.Likewise I have Bachelor of Laws. The University I got enrolled here in Boston says I would be able to sit for the New York Bar Exams with that Master degree but in the middle of the program I found out another student with same issues as mine applied for New York Bar Exam and they decline his application unless he was a complete lawyer in the country he came from. I consult with the Director of the program and he confirm thats its a new requirement he just discovered so I can not sit for the Bar Exam anymore. After graduated on May I did several application for Compliance or Legal positions as it doesnt require to be a (complete lawyer/an Attorney) but I didnt get accepted anywhere yet. I have several questions as I would truly appreciate your advice.
- Should I keep applying for Compliance position untill I get one, and try to build a career out of it?.
- Should I keep applying for Legal positions eventhough I can not become Attorney without sit for the bar( The point is if i find one, is there a future in that field without becoming an Attorney?.)
- Is it fair what that law school did claim I would be able to sit for the bar after I finish the program, and at last it was impossible?
- Should i go back to another law school and do two years of JD degree to be able to sit for the bar.( Is it worth to take more loans from the government and doing another two years )
- Should i keep my first master degree from Tanzania in my resume eventhough I did not finish it?( Eventhough I did most of the courses I feel like It might be on eof the obstacle I did not get any position yet as it shows most of my experience are from out of States) 6.As my wife is pregnant with our second baby. Should i just look for any normal job paying minimum wage to be able to support my family)
- What might be my best solution out of this situation with my second baby coming this December and bills keep piling up?
Thank you all.

Too Much Ambition??
Since I've started looking for work, it hasn't been easy. I didn't expect it to be. I've been working housekeeping jobs so far. One was a little nursing home and the other was as a temp through an agency. They had me at a 5 star hotel.. I worked my tail off cause getting hired permanently was important. But, my qualities (caring too much, pride in going slow to ensure quality, asking too many questions, speaking English) are only hurting me! Shouldn't I care if I'm doing the job okay? Shouldn't I be paying attention and asking questions?! Maybe I try paying attention to too much detail? I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong but, once I'm hired, I don't seem to last very long. I need advice please..

How to handle
I started working for a very nice mom and pop company about 4 months ago I had been on the job a couple of weeks when I got a phone call from a company I had applied to 2 months prior and even told I had the job the same day but the never told me when to start I heard nothing from them until the phone call they ask if I could get my business pic and insurance all paid up and they would give me the job, I didn't have the money right then so I told my new boss about what they wanted he said I could use his so I have the phone numbers to contact each other to exchange info well long story short he's doing the job not me. The other company offered me a job only 4 hrs a Wk not the 15 or so a Wk that he's doing. Should I say something or just be happy with what I have I know some company's give a percentage for referrals.?

Maybe this is it , but trying not to get my hopes up...
#adviceneeded #interview #shadowing #secondinterview #advice I'm a Certified Medical Assistant that has been actively looking for a job. I've been on 4 unsuccessful interviews , and was pretty down on myself. Things might be looking up though because I had my first interview with this place I'd love to work for last month, and was called back in for a second interview a few days ago. The interview went great, met the physician/surgeon, and staff. I Was told to come back next Thursday to shadow. I Sent a thank you letter to which the office manager promptly replied, "can't wait for next Thursday too." My question is , is it common to get the job after you've been invited to shadow? Or should I not get my hopes up again? Experiences or advice would be great.

Meetings and outside obligatons
my employer decided to host a large company wide "mandatory" meeting: in about two weeks. The problem is I already have something going on that evening. Do I give up my social obligation?

Post IT career path
I'm an admitted newbie to this site, but it's unlikely I'm the first to want to move from Information Technology to something else. I'm still adept at using tech and a good problem solver, but the IT life is not for me. Lately I've enjoyed photography, though it's hardly an easy career. Any ideas for a post IT career path that doesn't require starting at the very bottom?

Interview
I have an interviewe Thursday and it's a panel which consist of 5 people. I am very nervous. Appreciate any feed back.
