What is your favorite book or movie and why?
My favorite books are anything from Agatha Christie. You talk about a mystery and a twist. Her books could have you puzzled, sitting on the edge, and full of anticipation. Now, my favorite movies are anything with Nicholas Cage. I have been following Nicholas since his very first movie, Valley Girl. I knew then he would be an excellent actor. He put his all into everything he play. I can't choose one, because he has been phenomenal in so many movie.
As far as movies go, I have so many that I've enjoyed. The Client is just one. The Lost City is one of mine too.
Favorite Books - Dune Trilogy… it took some time to match the trilogy with the on screen movies, but the last version of Dune movie was very good!.. someone was paying attention to details.
Definatly UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN. as for why, I think it plays into almost everyone's dream or fantasy about being able to travel to a new beautiful country so full of history. Meeting amazing people that become lifetime friends/family. Finding a super cool old house and being able to fix it up and LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER !!..obviously this is not EVERYONES dream or fantasy life..but I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had the right partner with the same desire for taking a risk to find your dream life.
I may disagree with many Hollywood actors but I can still enjoy their movies. 'Castaway' has a poignancy for me because I know what it is like to be all alone and feel lost and self sufficient and sometimes you get too close to giving up. When he lost Wilson and went swimming and was at the end of his rope. I have been to that dark place too and hope I never go back and want to keep anyone else from being there. Another one of my favorites is Shawshank Redemption. Accused and sentenced for a crime he did not commit. Best is the ending, when Red is on the bus and feeling like a free man again, about to embark on a grand adventure. Pack everything you own in your kit bag to travel to a place you have never seen and trust that your friend will be there for you.
Mostly SCFI movies and books are my goto. Movies and TV shows such as Star Wars, Star Trek are my Go To movies and TV viewing. The Star Trek, I'm all in! I'm fascinated about space travel, and visiting other planets, which expands into learning about other cultures here on earth, and definately space exploration.
@Bill Branstetter, my favorite book is Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, my favorite author. I love this story because it’s about a family traveling across the country to get to California and the gold rush. It is a story of the bonds of a family and the excitement of having the little things and courage to risk it all in hopes of striking it rich..
@Bill Branstetter Hello Bill, ironically “Kill Bill” is my favorite movie, I’ve been an anime fan since I was younger and I thought it was crazy how you could take elements from animation and they translated well to live action, made me an instant Quentin Tarantino fan.
My favorite book is Tourchard For Christ by William Warnbrand. It is a true story about him being Tourchard in prison because he claimed Christ as His Savior
I enjoy reading anything from Dean Koontz and Steven King. Favorite movies would be an extensive answer.
