What is the derterming factor for you to reject a job offer?
Recently, I rejected a job offer because the company's values and brand did not align with my values and lacked opportunities to excel in my career. Professional growth was not highlighted or emphasized and the company reviews were mediocre. BUT...the income was great!
Was this bad decision? I don't feel so...what are your opinions? Suggestions?

Sorry about the typing- hard to do on my phone at this age.

It depends on your definition of "values".
I am from a different generation raised by a waaay different generation (the ones that lived through the Depression, WWII, the Cold War, massive Inflation in the late 70's, etc., etc., etc. a job is a job and you'd better grab thst job ans work your buns of saving enough money thst you can live INDEPENDENTLY for at least 3-4 years! Unless...unless that busines is involved in anti-human, heinous, anti- earth or animal activities and you would be a participant in those activities by working there.
And don't list things that would be hard as values just because it would be uncomfortable as values. Ugh. Get a grip. My father never got to go to college because he had to support himself fully then his family. I worked graveyards and werkends AND holidays for more than 30 years because I had to support myself. And don't fotget about the causes, religious institutions, charities that you can/will/should support who need your donations. So more than just "I want respect." or "I want weekends off." Take a good, solid look at your foundational morals. And act accordingly with both short and long-term goals. Not just "I want a good wardrobe." Or a better apartment. Or... What about your kids? Your family- the pnes who came before you and those coming after you and the resposibilities there. Then, after all yhis, consider the flotsam, the icings on the cake. It sounds like something is stirring within you because of your question. Dig deeper than just "feeling good" about being "valued." There are deeper and more valuable rewards awaiting with deeper evaluation. Good for you as you go there...

I need to respect my employer and they me. Money is secondary so I agree "no"

Thank you for your wonderful advice
You are in control of your own personal growth not a job. When comes to values. Does every person in your like share your values currently? If getting a job and paying bills is the objective, take the job. If your job duties is not directly relate to the values you oppose, than you are good. Think about all the companies that you do business with daily. Do they share your same values? Are you going to stop eating? We don't like our leaders but we are moving to another country. Pray on it.
