Terminated? Or discriminated?

So I was terminated from my job. The company wanted me to do extra duties and I did. Just not as fast as they thought. So I go on vacation and come back to getting fired. Since then, finding a great job is hard and I'm blessed to find good work. But applying for county jobs and state jobs, with great benefits don't happen.. Can I file for discrimination or can I file a suit against the company for letting me go like that? Also, I interview well and that's it. Rejected! Is there a statute of limitations on filing? Thanks #termination #advice #discrimination #legal

You can start with contacting the us employment opportunity commission and ask them or look on their website. I hope that helps

Laundry Attendent at Crown Plaza

My situation was different. My Supervisor didn't like me. She was cutting my hours short. I was the only one getting written up. The company was bought by another company. She promised us all our jobs. I had to take off to take care of my son, whom was home sick with covid. Sent her the Dr. NOTE. On the end of my 3mth probation period. I was , well thought I was going to be a full time employee with the new company. I get a phone call saying they was letting me go. Called it a Salary cut. While I was out taking care of my son. Not once did they pay me for my sick time. A co-worker advised me. She let me because she didn't like me. What can I do?.

I'm honestly not at all sure that you can, but it can't hurt to look up your state and local laws regarding employment termination. It might also help to look at any contracts or handbooks you received and signed from them at the start of your time there to see whether or not you could do this in the first place, and maybe also if you could clear up what you mean by "just not as fast." Is there something preventing you from achieving that or did they just set an impossible standard?

Just curious...how long had you been on the job before you took vacation? How many days did you take off?

You should go to human resources and ask why you were let go and explain what was going on

if you think you have a strong case but it depends if you are also an at will state, but the company could argue layoffs or any other potential BS, but if you think that its something other than that then contact the labor board and do some homework before you decide what you final decision is

Create step by step manuals to hand out. Be willing to answer questions and apply your knowledge over the phone, internet or at their workplace on their computer. This allows you to troubleshoot their equipment and watch them use the commands in the step by step manual that you had passed out when you had the training event.
