With the pandemic raging we're lucky if we can order out for food through delivery app like DoorDash, UberEats, Postmates, etc. These gig workers are risking their health by travelling throughout the city or town you live in to bring your food to you. Here's a quick video on why if you don't tip your delivery driver in the app you're going to be eating a cold meal for sure at a much later time than you expected. #deliverydriver #coronavirus #losangeles #foodservices #TTT

It's the golden rule, right? Tip others the way you want to be tipped...

Tip cash, period! You should always always tip cash! And also, they are Not being compensated for their gas to drive that food to you, especially since they’re using their own vehicle, not a company vehicle to drive it to you, Tip them! This is not up for discussion. Don’t be a jerk & try to justify it that no one tips you at your job. Try doing their job and not getting tips. I’m sure you’ll change your tune quickly. Tip Cash

I’m a gig worker since losing my job, and tips are very much appreciated. By the time some companies get through we get about 10% especially on Instacart

No, I always pick up my order. As I suspected, the local news have filmed food delivery drivers and 95% put their hand on the food and grabbed a bit of food to eat. You can't trust people these days, discipline has gone down dramatically.

Of course you tip, over tip.

YES!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO!!

Always!!

Some apps include the tip in your total. It depends on the platform, if you read the fine print you won't have to be uncertain again.

For sure ; Delivery drivers make less than minimum wage ; tipping is minimum one can do for the absolute convenience.
This is my perspective on this. A tip is optional. I usually tip my postmates and Grubhub drivers, since I have both platforms. Also, I communicate on how to get to my apartment. This is due to them changing the address to direct people to the other side. What happened was the people that own the apartments I live in changed it on Google, but still haven't physically moved their office to the other side because of renovations. To the topic back at hand, it is recommended to tip your delivery drivers. I even tip my Lyft drivers. If a metric is needed, go from anywhere from ten to twenty percent of the bill. If their service is shitty, then don't tip. That simple.
