It depends on the role. Which job were you interested in? The best thing to do is to check the job description. A degree in library science may be required, but not for every role!

Try their websites and see what’s posted but be on notice that there’s very little turnover in libraries. 90 percent of those that I see @ my library have worked there 10 or more years. Try school libraries to widen your search.

It is very difficult. Sometimes you need to be appointed by the local politician to ANY position at a Public Library. A lot of jobs are part time with no benefits.
