Imagine this scenario: A company offers you a job with a good pay rate. You have the choice between one week of PTO with no change to your pay or you can have unlimited PTO but your pay is reduced by 1% every time you take a day off. This resets at the end of each year. Which would you choose?

I know this is a hypothetical situation. But it should NOT be called PTO if it reduces your pay every time you take it 😅. At that point I might as well consider working PT instead of FT cuz what's the point 🤣.

@Bill Branstetter My current employer offers us two weeks paid vacation, three paid sick days, and holidays. I’m okay with that as long as I’m getting paid for not being at work.

Financial Stability: Evaluate your financial situation and determine if you can afford reduced pay during your time off. If you have significant financial responsibilities, this arrangement might not be feasible.

Work-Life Balance: Unlimited PTO can be appealing if you value flexibility and prioritize work-life balance. It allows you to take time off whenever you need it, without being limited by a specific number of vacation days.

@Bill Branstetter Hello Bill, I would pass on this. Time off is required to function, my pay shouldn’t be reduced because I require periods of rest every now and then.
