Is anyone there???
I work in a small corporate office and I am still going in everyday, but I am not sure for how long because of the Coronavirus.
Is anyone out there actually going into work anymore?!

I am because I work at a gas station as assistant manager but my manager just got quarantined and I don't know what to do. I've been trained for it but I have a young son I need to keep tabs on that's home from school on spring break this week and until schools reopen across the area. The only people that watch him are his aging grandparents who are frail and my mother has COPD and I don't like him being around her because she could get deathly ill. He could be bringing coronavirus I could be bringing coronavirus to her at anytime from the many people I must interact with each shift- either one of us and they are my only Caregivers for my son while I'm at work so I'm kind of in a catch-22. I'm praying I don't bring it home every time I come from work to pick him up from their house or to stay the night so I can work the next day early. They called me in tomorrow to work I told him I couldn't watch my son since I live in a different county from my parents and go to work too. I'm afraid my job is in Jeopardy if I keep having to do that. It's only a matter of time before it all hits the fan for most workers in this country no matter what type of job they have we are all in jeopardy!

I am but past two days they have called me off so I figure they will have me work from home too soon.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.
The vast majority of people recover from the new virus. According to the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three to six weeks to recover. Nearly 30,000 Americans die as a result of the influenza viruses every year. People are frightened by news reports that sensationalize and exaggerate the threat. Good health practices are ALWAYS wise, but panic is not.

How many people work in your office Emily?

My sister-in-law who works for a small business is still going to work everyday this week.
Erin I'm sorry but I disagree with your comments. I'm thankful everyday that I get to go to work. I also have a child that has borderline personality disorder. Me and my wife are both classified as essential workers. So while she is at home alone we are at work for long days. I understand that things are hard right now but many people have no source of income right now. Be thankful you can still put food on the table. Always remember it could be worse and be thankful to what ever God you believe in that you are healthy and still working.
