Temp Jobs Can be a Great Strategy. Don’t Ignore Them.
Hiring salaried employees is expensive for companies. One option that’s used, especially in times of uncertainly (like now), is to hire temporary/contract workers or consultants to help with the workload.
While these roles typically do not have all of the benefits (health, 401k, etc.) associated with salaried roles, they can be great alternatives to your current situation and should, at least, be considered.
Once you get “in the door,” you’ll be able to demonstrate your skills and build a rapport with colleagues, even if it’s just for a few months.
Based on your efforts and the company’s needs, there is always a chance that your short-term assignment could be extended (more than once, in many cases) or even turned into a full time, salaried position.
Not to mention, it’s ALSO a great way to see if the company would make sense for YOU longer term.
Worst case in all of this? The assignment is only short-term and you now have new bullets for your resume to help you continue to market yourself for additional roles.
Consider these options when job searching as you never know where one step could lead.

This is excellent advice, I started my career via a "temp" job, learned more about the job, decided I would put my best foot forward, and they ended up offering me a full time role with benefits!
