How long should I wait?
I see a lot of posts asking how long should they wait before they hear back from XYZ company after an interview? My interviewers have always been forth coming about the timeline of when they would fill the role. However, if they didn't bring it up, I would always ask what is the timeline for filling this position. Will they contact me regardless of the outcome? Do you ask this also? #jobsearch #advice #interview #followup

I don't usually ask, but simply thank them for interviewing me and let them get back to me on their own timeline. I can see a lot of folks struggling with this though, and I'm lucky to have gotten a lot of follow up - the waiting without any word from the interviewer must be difficult.

Glad you posted this Reena! This is one of those lost questions people fail to ask because most people are heavily invested in the process of sending out resumes and getting the interview. But this is a habit that can be a difference maker. Many times a job will come down to two people. And you want to be the one that stays in front of the hiring manager. Whether you ask in the interview how long you should wait to contact them or not, you should always reach out and follow up with a call or email.

I NEVER ask. It doesn't matter to me what their time line is because I have my own. I keep applying & keep interviewing. The winner is the 1st company that I feel compensates me fairly while providing the work I like & the environment I can thrive & grow in. Accept nothing less, People & NEVER EVER sit & wait! Keep going, keep moving, keep reaching!

Reena You saw my comment which was similar to yours & because my typing is sub par at times, many accused me of screaming or being arrogant commanding and demanding. I did not think I was any of the latter. I would recommend 30 days but If they don't follow up in 2 weeks move on. Now yes the bird in hand is better than two in the bush. But like my situation that many think I am being argumentative and disrespectful. There was a time line. So 3 words
GO FOR IT!
The worst thing that can happen
They SAID NO and meant it.
Others will stereotype you and possibly insult you.
On the other hand they could say Come on down or we are flexible our optimal is AAA-> CCC
SCORE!
Or if you look at my similar post a civil debate of point counter point dialogs and process on going
POWER ON REENA B. ~GG

Of Course! Most companies have automated replies indicating you were not selected for the role or driver's seat. Don't quit......

I think it’s a good idea. Better to know if your in line for a position than not. Why waste your time 🤷♀️

It is a great idea. Thank you.

I think it's a good question, as so many don't like to contact the 'losers'.
I just keep looking for many options, so I don't get bogged down by only looking for one job to contact me.
