discouraged looking for work after being with company almost 9 years.
I'm getting discouraged looking for work in my field. I worked for a great company that had a major downturn due to covid. In this area, the best paying jobs are highly technical such as engineer. And a lot of lower wage jobs like cashier or server (limited in squatting and lifting, which rules out many jobs). I worked from home as QA and performance coach and previously as a phone agent. The pay is a big drop from what I made in my field and there aren't many positions. Which is also discouraging. I realize I need to lower my expectations but how much? And how are you dealing with the discouragement? #workfromhome #jobsearch #application

I’m going through the same as well. Everything I have found is either way too entry level or way too technical. I have yet to find the right job. Those that I have applied for I haven’t heard back from which may be because I’m over qualified. It’s definitely hard right now. Wishing everyone luck!!!

My whole thing is getting emails about a job, you open an a bunch of crap not interested in. Where is the job, makes me want to throw computer across room. Really frustrating looking for a job and going through this

I haven't worked since 2013 do to work related injury.

I can totally relate. Its why I made a change. Hang in their it will get better. Let me know if you want to talk or anything.

I am having the same problem. I have been with my company for 12 years. I am now trying to relocate to another city and having no luck! I have 25 years of experience and I was surprised to see the same job I've been doing is actually paying less in the city. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now.

I gave up and worked a decade as a cashier after laid off. Spent 3 years of looking for any tech job in my field first. I would say lower expectations to any job which lets you eat and have shelter at this time. Currently looking again in covid 19 era.

I have been in electrcal engineering most of my life (over 30 years) and I can't get a part time or work from home job. You would think that work from home jobs in this field would be fairly easy to coordinate. Most of my experience has been in the boat, yacht and defense industries and I live in Tampa Florida and tend to be worthless. I guess there isn't enough water around here. If you find anything in this field please let me know. I want to work and have a gazillion years of experience and am not asking to be a gazillion dollars an hour either.

Self employed been doing carpet for the last 20 years. Worked at the UDF on Wyoming for a year. I’m just looking for a less strenuous job and something closer to home

Wayfair is hiring Virtual Customer Service reps for $14/hr. The job is full time with benefits. They'll send you the computer and equipment you need. Link to application: https://grnh.se/350a15b42us

I too want to throw the computer through the window. All of the "recommendations" I get I just want to say, did you even read my resume? Their suggestions are totally demeaning.
