Great question! I believe that it all depends on your mindset . If I truly love my job then the commute is obsolete to the dreaded job 5 minutes away.

One job I worked two weeks on and two weeks off. Twelve hour shifts. First forty hours regular pay the other forty-four hours over time. The second week is over time. Those jobs I was either on the road for four hours and when I had to go to another site; then, it was six to seven hours depending on the weather.
