Age Discrimination?

Hoping someone has some advice. Have been trying to procure a job for the past year. I apply and sometimes never hear back, or am told I do not have the qualifications, when I know in fact I do, or it is filled. I am a senior lady with many years of experience in the medical field. I would love to obtain a job as a receptionist or customer service or even remote work. I am computer literate and learn very quickly. I would love some insight with regards to my predicament. #jobsearch #workfromhome #advice #ageism

Make sure to research the companies you plan on applying to, or interviewing with, because they will ask you. Companies want to know you care enough to know about them. Don't be nervous, you'll either get the job or not, it's cut and dry; nothing personal.

@Maria Jimenez I’m sorry to hear you are subjected to age discrimination. I did a little research via ChatGPT and this is the information I received.

Seniors in the medical field can explore opportunities such as medical billing, medical transcription, health education, or administrative roles in healthcare settings. Additionally, part-time positions or consulting work could be suitable, considering their experience and expertise. Networking and checking with local healthcare facilities might reveal tailored opportunities.

I hope this information helps you land the position you are searching for. Godspeed!

I'm sorry to hear about your job search challenges. Age discrimination can unfortunately be an issue in the job market. Here are a few suggestions to help you navigate this situation:

  1. Polish your resume: Make sure it highlights your relevant skills and experiences. Consider seeking help from a professional resume writer if needed.

  2. Network: Reach out to professional contacts, former colleagues, and friends to let them know you're looking for a job. Sometimes, personal connections can lead to opportunities.

  3. Job search platforms: Expand your job search by using various online job search platforms, such as Jobcase, Indeed, LinkedIn, and others. Utilizing multiple platforms can increase your chances of finding suitable positions.

  4. Online learning: Consider updating your skills through online courses or certifications to show that you're invested in continuous improvement and learning.

  5. Volunteer or intern: Consider volunteering or interning in your desired field to gain recent experience and make new professional connections.

Remember to stay positive and persistent. Your experience and skills are valuable assets. Don't hesitate to reach out to Jobcase and other job search providers for additional advice and support. Good luck with your job search! #jobsearch #workfromhome #ageism #advice

Have you removed from your resume anything beyond ten years and the dates for your education?

If you're interested in remote jobs try searching job boards using the term "healthcare remote"

Good luck!
