What is the #1 thing that has REALLY p'd you off about an employer? For me, I once worked for a place that counted your bathroom breaks. YUP...that happened!
Many moons ago, I did a lot of gov't and military contracting. One of those contracts put me at the USDA in Wash. D.C. for a year or so. My job was to maintain and secure all of the servers (email, web, file, etc etc etc), so a lot of my time was spent down the hall in (duh) the server room. One day, I got an official letter from the Director instructing me to be in some conference room for THREE hours that day to discuss a few IT-related matters. The only issue that specifically involved ME was the LAST issue of the meeting, where I had to explain why I couldn't be found at my desk ALL eight hours of my workday. Now, ignore the fact that I was the server guy and couldn't be at my desk all 8 hours... I pointed out to everyone at the meeting that they were making me spend 3 hours of my day NOT at my desk talking about why I wasn't at my *&#^ing desk. All I got from the federal employee side of the room was dumb looks. (20ish years later, and I still have that stupid letter, framed even :) )
More than once I have people from management look at me and they ask "whats your name? " I have worked here for 5 years and most still don't know me yet. Not worth even caring anymore, Ford
I hate that I have to work every weekend while everyone else gets off every other weekend and some every weekend. I have more sinority than everyone else there but they don't care
Most companies don’t want to hire Americans who are old. How do you get a job from someone who is 30 years old and stupid? Most hate older Americans and don’t understand how much of a valuable asset they are. This corporate culture sucks really big niw.
What made me SOOOOOO angry was that they never had anywhere to park in the garage. I would circle for hours and I know it's not a really big deal, but it used to piss me off so much!!
Boss was counting my hours down to the second. I conducted a full audit on my hours. In 1 year I worked 6 months worth of unpaid overtime. Union crushed my boss, he was fired, and I got 6 months off with full pay.
I worked at this place that forced my coworker to help someone move during his one week paid vacation. Also, they constantly talked down to all of their employees.
I hated that they would do the crew members training modules. No wonder they didn't do or know anything, managements doing their training so they get their bonuses!!!
I had worked for the government for 10 years and had several tragic losses within 6 month, separation. I kept the stress bottled up for a few years, because of the amount of sick days you could use, and eventually I had to have my eye removed last October, and they terminated me while I was recovering. It has been very hard to get a job for me since
I hated that they never appreciated me.
